Coached by Walt 'Pudge' Heffelfinger (1st season). There were no polls until 1936.

On January 11, 1895, the Intercollegiate Conference of Faculty Representatives met for the first time, the organization which would become the Big Ten Conference. The seven schools which started the Conference were the University of Chicago, University of Illinois, University of Michigan, University of Minnesota, Northwestern University, Purdue University and the University of Wisconsin.
