Cooke (10th season). There were no polls until 1949. The game against Purdue on 2/23 is simply a guess on my part - I have no record of any such game being played. However, the official Big Ten standings have us at 6-2 and Purdue at 2-6 this season, but both teams are a game short according to their media guides. I think it's a safe assumption that the Gophers must have played and beaten Purdue one extra time this year, so that game was inserted to demonstrate that fact.
